I am Louis P. Meyer, an attorney with Kanner & Pintaluga in the firm’s Tampa, Florida office. I represent homeowners with denied, delayed, and underpaid insurance claims — hurricane and windstorm damage, roof claims, and water losses — along with people injured in car, truck, and motorcycle accidents and slip and falls. My work comes down to one thing: making sure insurance companies and at-fault parties pay what they actually owe, not what they would prefer to pay.

How I Work
A few things make me different from what people expect when they picture a lawyer.
I talk to you like a person. You will understand what is happening with your claim, why it is happening, and what we are doing about it, in plain English, not legalese. When there is an acronym or a piece of insurance jargon in the way, I explain it. For example, if your carrier demands an EUO, which stands for Examination Under Oath, I will walk you through exactly what that is and how we handle it.
I am honest with you about where you stand. If you have a strong claim, I will tell you. If there is a real problem, I will tell you that too, before it becomes a surprise. I would rather lose a potential client to the truth than sign one up on a promise I cannot keep.
And I do not back down because a carrier has a bigger name or a bigger legal department. Neither do I bluff. I prepare every case like it is going to trial, because that is what gets results.

His practice focuses on firstparty property insurance claims, including hurricane damage, windstorm damage, roof damage, water damage, fire and smoke damage, and mold claims, as well as personal injury matters involving car accidents, motorcycle accidents, truck accidents, boating accidents, and slip and fall injuries throughout Florida.
Prior to joining Kanner & Pintaluga, Louis was a law clerk for the United States Bankruptcy Court. He was an attorney for a national law firm representing victims of property damage and personal injury. Before that, he worked at a prestigious Civil Defense Firm representing insurance carriers.
Louis received a B.A. from UCLA, graduating with Honors. He completed his J.D. at Whittier Law School, where he received a Certificate in Intellectual Property.
